Compass Performance, Inc. (CPI), founded in 2019, is dedicated to empowering both for-profit and non-profit organizations by enhancing the lives and learning of their leaders and teams. We offer business and executive coaching, as well as fractional Human Resources support.

Steve Kopecky

Steve Kopecky is the owner and President of Compass Performance, Inc. With an extensive background in coaching, Steve's career began in the U.S. Navy, where he expertly developed and guided Commanding Officers and their combat systems teams in preparation for deployments in high-stakes environments. His dedication to supporting others extended to his role as Director of an outpatient drug, alcohol, and mental health treatment center during the final three years of his distinguished eleven-year active duty service. In this capacity, he made a significant impact by providing critical assessment and treatment services to service members and their families.

Following his service in the U.S. Navy, Steve Kopecky transitioned into the field of human resources and organizational development, where he witnessed a range of business transformations. His most significant achievement in scaling and streamlining operations occurred during his global expatriate assignment in Europe with ITW. There, he implemented an innovative "front to back" 80/20 operating model and toolbox, which highlighted the effectiveness of reducing complexity and strategically focusing resources on core markets, customers, and products.

Steve observed, "It was truly remarkable to see a business model that not only worked but also generated exceptional cash flow, improved bottom-line results, and fostered the development of a highly engaged and skilled workforce."

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Steve has a strong history of community involvement. He has previously volunteered as a firefighter with a local village department and served on the boards of esteemed organizations such as the American Red Cross and the Wisconsin Workforce Development Board, as well as various local planning committees.
